A six-year-old girl from Washington Township was killed after the car she was riding in was t-boned by another car on Miamisburg-Centerville Road (SR 725) at Garnet Drive in the afternoon of Wednesday, July 26, according to Captain Dee Osterfeld of the Washington Township substation of the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office.

The victim, Yukta Garg, was riding in the back seat of a forest green Honda, said Osterfeld. The driver of the Honda was attempting to head north bound on Garnet Drive and cross four lanes of traffic on 725, said Osterfeld, when the Honda was struck by a silver Chevrolet Aveo heading westbound on 725.

There are no stop lights at Garnet Drive, so the driver of th Honda would have had to yield to traffic on 725.

Several police and fire crews responded to the crash at 4:08 p.m. According to Osterfeld, four people from Honda and two from the Aveo were hospitalized for non-life threatening injuries sustained from the crash.

Osterfeld noted that the crash closed westbound lanes of 725 for about 3-4 hours.

Charges are being reviewed by the Montgomery County Prosecutor's Office, said Osterfeld. No names of the others involved in the crash were released as the incident is still under investigation.
